5ive Photo in Reno, Nevada | Reno & Sparks Photographer

A few weeks back, I decided to go ahead and re-start my photography business here in Reno. I had just gotten my feet wet in Colorado when the news of the move came. I went back and forth for 6 months over the decision to start here in Reno because photography is really a word-of-mouth, by referral business and I don't know anyone within 2 hours of this area. That makes getting things off the ground difficult. Also, I saw a need for a photographer in Northern Colorado where there seems to be a saturated market here in Reno. Some of which are offering services for practically pennies...like $25 a shoot (imsorrywhat?). Two strikes, but not out.

Then I thought to myself, I can do hard things.

I decided just to go for it and hope that the clientele will show up if I keep putting myself out there. I just love this business and I know I could be happy doing it forever. I'd eventually like to focus my direction toward lifestyle shoots (because I think there is such a need for those kinds of everyday shots in the life of a family) but I love portraiture and I know that's where the market is at.

So, I ordered some new business cards and I've started updating the 5ive Photoblog and 5ive Photo facebook page. I'm hoping to find some clients here in Reno and Sparks to give me a try-out and a good review to their friends and family.
